Overview:

The Washington Works site currently has an opportunity available for a Polymerization Production Scheduler (Advanced Specialist, Production) to support Autoclave’s polymerization process. The Polymerization Production Scheduler is a key member of the production team and will be responsible for maximizing the efficiency of the assets and labor resources to achieve the unit’s production plan.

This is an on-site position in Washington, West Virginia.

Responsibilities:

  • In coordination with Asset Optimizer (AO), Maintenance Scheduler & Polymerization Daily Execution Lead (DEL), this role is responsible for developing and the ongoing adjustments of the Polymerization Production Schedule to meet supply chain objectives. Any significant changes to the agreed upon production plan must be approved by production leadership and communicated to the supply chain team for awareness.
  • Responsible for managing respective POLY 24/7 & CORE Team KPIs
  • Production Actual vs. Production Plan by Asset & Total (daily - 24/7 Team, weekly - Core Team, Monthly & YTD - Unit Team)
  • Actual POLY OEE Performance Total vs. Goal (daily - 24/7 Team, weekly - Core Team, Monthly & YTD - Unit Team)
  • Out of Specification Batch Report
  • Responsible for the collection and distribution of the POLY Quality Release Test Data. (asset ID, product PID, date produced/tested, QC results pass/fail, if fail [test/cause, result value, delta vs. specification])
  • 24/7 Team - (Last 24 hours) Quality Trend by Asset (does not capture retests)
  • CORE Team - (Last 7 days) Quality Trend by Asset (does not capture retests)
  • UNIT Team – (Last 12 months) Quality Trend by Asset (does not capture retests)
  • Perform weekly Actual Production vs. Plan status updates with respective Supply Chain associates.
  • Manage POLY Blocked Stock generation & inventory (data analysis, KPI reporting, decisions/actions).
  • Manage POLY Quality release test failure data (data analysis, KPI reporting, Unit SQRE Meeting Action Plan).
  • Audits/updates weekly OEE data (Quality & Reliability) to ensure accuracy and provide additional context for unplanned downtime entries to ensure proper coding and to support clarity for improvement efforts (Unit SQRE "bad actors").
  • Responsible for the communication, creation, and execution of pre-generated batches/POs for PACK during planned SAP outages to mitigate operations or inventory impact.
  • Manages the PO generation, scheduling, and technical communication for POLY TAs in production.
  • Ability to be cross trained with PACK OPS Scheduler for short-term coverage.

Other Responsibilities

  • Ensure that all individual actions and issued instructions comply with operational procedures (SOPs/ODs) and safety standards.
  • Maintains unit standards related to housekeeping, quality management systems, personnel policies, and process safety management.
  • Models Celanese Core Value Compliance (Stewardship/PSM, Ethics & Respect for People).
  • Ensure good communication and relations with Production Personnel, Business Planners & Schedulers, S&OP Team, Raw Material Coordinators, Unit Leadership Team, and Technical Engineering Staff.

Qualifications:

  • HS Diploma or equivalent.
  • Manufacturing experience.
  • Aptitude for leading and developing team members.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Knowledge of computer use such as Microsoft office and other special programs as needed.
  • Capacity to solve problems and be decisive to ensure business needs are met.
  • Troubleshooting experience of general computer & Microsoft app issues.
  • Confidence of multitasking in a demanding and fast-paced environment.
  • Able to take calls and work after hours on an as needed basis.

The following skill sets are preferred by the site: 

  • SAP experience.
  • Critical thinking.
  • Business acumen related to production process flow, inventory management, and operational costs.
  • Sample Manager (LIMS) experience.
  • Training in vocational schools, related on-the-job experience, or an associate's degree.
