Overview:

The Advanced Quality Engineer responsibilities will be a mix of office and field time (in the assigned unit operations). Leadership presence on the floor will be required from this role.

The Advanced Quality Engineer works in a team with unit operations leadership, technical, and the site quality team.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for conformance to safety requirements. Lead and participate in safety activities and audits.
  • Completes review of process, product, equipment related data critical to achieving the quality plan.
  • Completes daily regimen to identify quality related emerging issues.
  • Communicates and strategizes activities with Technology Expert.
  • Coordinate and prioritize efforts of various quality stakeholders (e.g. Unit leadership, site, lab, technical).
  • Communicates quality results to the Core Team stakeholders to optimize unit performance.
  • Support Process Experts, Team Captains, and Unit Leadership to optimize unit performance (drive unit performance towards KPI)
  • Ensure statistical control of lab and unit operations
  • Lead unit Quality Improvement Team and participate in the Unit SQRE Quality Meeting
  • Lead internal quality systems audits and root cause investigations of audit findings
  • Lead and investigate Incidents / Variances/ Customer Complaints (Conduct Problem Solving Sessions – Root Cause Failure Analysis)
  • Work with maintenance, technical, and operations as needed to trouble shoot area issues or coordinate incident investigations and problem-solving sessions (safety, quality, reliability, etc.)

Qualifications:

Required

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant scientific discipline (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry) preferred
  • Experience in quality systems and Six Sigma methodology preferred
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Applications, SAP/SAPPM, Sample Manager, or
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to analyze complex situations and think strategically
  • Ability to communicate effectively and lead by influence
